Oracle Database
Oracle as a relational source.
Oracle Database as a relational source for BARRY.
Capabilities: Source
What it does
Reads tables and queries from an Oracle Database and moves the result to any destination you configure. It connects through Oracle's managed driver, so no Oracle client installation is required on the machine running the connection. For an on-prem database the connection is client-placed — a client inside your network reads it and ships the rows outward; a database reachable from the cloud can be read cloud-direct instead.
Configuration
- Host and port — the listener address (port 1521 by default).
- Service name — the database service to connect to. An Easy Connect string (
host:port/service) is accepted as well. - User / password — the database account BARRY authenticates with.
Point the connection at a read-only or least-privilege account; extraction never writes back to the source.
Load strategies
- Full load — reads the whole table or query each run.
- Incremental (watermark) — reads only rows past a high-water mark you nominate, such as an id or a modified-timestamp column, so a large table stays current without a full rescan.
Log-based change data capture is not part of this connector; use a watermark column where you need incremental loads.
