SQL Server

SQL Server and Azure SQL as source or sink.

Microsoft SQL Server (and Azure SQL) as a relational source or sink for BARRY.

Capabilities: Source · Sink

What it does

Reads tables and queries from SQL Server / Azure SQL, and can also write into them. Runs client-placed (on-prem) or cloud-direct when the database is reachable from the cloud.

Configuration

  • Server / host and port
  • Database
  • Encrypt and trust-certificate options

Authentication

Authentication differs by side:

  • Source (read on the on-prem client): SQL login, or Windows integrated authentication.
  • Sink (write from the cloud server): SQL login, Azure AD managed identity, or Azure AD service principal. Windows integrated authentication is not available for cloud-side writes.

Change Tracking (continuous CDC)

When Change Tracking is enabled on the database and table, a transport can run as a continuous change feed — inserts, updates, and deletes shipped as small batches. The runtime only consumes Change Tracking; it never enables it.
